I did it!

I've created a blog! Instead of writing long, rambling Facebook notes, I now have a more official, probably more acceptable, place to share!

And in the creation of this blog this morning, there is even a little fun story.  : )

This was one of those days when God just wakes me up. Snapped wide awake at 5:30 with a thought about a friend of mine and figured I should probably go share it. So I got on facebook, sent the message and was looking around. While reading a friend's blog, my eye happened to wander over to the create blog button and I decided to click it.

I started to go through the process but stopped to read my bible for a minute. I always start my day by 'filling my tank' with a little of God's word, even if its just a Psalm. I can tell this blog thing is gonna occupy my morning until Gianna wakes up, so I wanted to get that in first.

So I read Psalm 37. I stopped on 'Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart'. I thought about how this is so true.  I think it is in part because God changes your desires to be more in line with his over time. And I am so grateful that the desires of my heart are met and I have such contentedness and peace.

So I go back to the blog. What to name it? Heaven and Earth just popped into my head and I went with it. Thats generally what I write about, seeing and experiencing God in our activities here on earth.

And for the image I thought of how my favorite thing to look at is laying on my back looking up at the sky through the trees. I searched around but couldn't really find the right one. The red leaves of the one I'm using caught my eye. I clicked on it and look at what it says under the image, especially the first paragraph:

And if you don't feel like reading it all, here's a piece of it: God leads us by desires, but we have to first submit our desires to Him. Sometimes we have to allow Him to change our desires, but know that He is always out for your good. It says in the book of Psalms that God gives us the desires of our heart. That means He places desires within us then brings them to pass so that we can live a fulfilled life here on earth.

So cool! Of all the pictures I was sifting through, the one I click on has a bible verse and is talking about what I had just read, was just thinking about moments before?!

I am going to send the link for this blog to them to ask permission to use their image.

Happy Tuesday!

  3. The longer I walk with the Lord, the less I believe in coincidences :) Especially when they can be as specific as this. Awesome story, Jen...
